In my last post, I mentioned that I was taking some time to focus on a research and writing project.  In addition to that, the comments section of the blog was getting spammed more frequently, so I felt it was a good time to take a break.  I learned several interesting things as a result.

Writing blog posts is a great way to start a conversation with others.  It also helps to develop an articulation of idea fragments, get input from others, and expose gaps that require more attention.  However, I also found that there is no substitute for writing a lengthy piece to prove new theories, connect disparate ideas, and explore broader areas of thought.  I have been able to do that, and have produced an article that poses a new idea and process to increase the reliability of innovation success within a company.

I won't post the entire article here, as I've been advised to publish it in more traditional venues so it can be cited by other professionals and academics in the innovation field.  However, the publishing process is very slow, (I'm now seeing first-hand why it will be disrupted, and have lots of ideas for how to do it) and I'll be discussing the ideas here in smaller increments.  This process has also helped me to hone and reframe my professional practice, and I'll be launching a new site and other ideas as I develop them.  Stay tuned!
